At its core, the Michigan Section of the American Association of Physics Teachers (MIAAPT) is a group of people who are organized to improve the teaching and learning of physics in the state of Michigan. These people join together from diverse institutions across the state: from middle schools, secondary schools, community colleges, colleges, and universities.

The MIAAPT has five officers: a President, a First Vice President, a Second Vice-President, a Secretary-Treasurer, and a Section Representative to the national organization (AAPT). For the list of contact people, click here.

The MIAAPT also has an executive board that consists of the officers and Past Presidents, who see to the smooth functioning of the organization. For a list of the members of the executive board, click here.

New teachers are encouraged to communicate with the Regional Contacts. These are people who have volunteered for this purpose and are experienced teachers in their institutional setting.
